Rita Sahatçiu Ora is a British singer, songwriter, and actress who is gaining great popularity for her hit song “How We Do (Party)” under Jay Z’s record label, Roc Nation. She credits Gwen Stefani as her greatest influence for her music and fashion inspirations. She also named Beyoncé as a major influence and mentor for her success.

Rita Ora’s Early Life & Career

She was born on November 26, 1990 in Pristina, Republic of Kosovo. Shortly after her birth, she moved to the United Kingdom where she grew up in West London. Rita Ora’s passion for music started at a young age. She appeared in the British film Spivs in 2004 and was a contestant for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest (she withdrew after several episodes as she did not feel ready).

Rita Ora started gaining real traction in 2007 when she was featured on Craig David’s “Awkward” and in 2008 for Tinchy Stryder’s “Where’s Your Love”. In 2009, Rita Ora was invited to meet with Jay Z. On February 24, 2012, Rita visited New York’s most popular radio station, Z100, to debut her lead single “How We Do (Party)”.
